What's the difference between Harness Sphereing and Aqua Sphereing and Eclipse Sphereing?
Harness Sphereing - 2 people in each Sphere...you wear a climbing harness and this is attached to the inside of the Sphere. As the Sphere rolls down the hill, you will be rolling over and over! Quite extreme!
Aqua Sphereing - 1, 2 or 3 people in each Sphere...you wear suitable clothes to get wet in!!! (You need to wear a long sleeved t-shirt and comfortable trousers.) You are not attached to anything inside the Sphere. As the Sphere rolls down the hill, you will be sliding around! Amazing fun!
Eclipse SphereingŪ - 2 people in each Sphere...you wear a climbing harness and this is attached to the inside of the Sphere. As the Sphere rolls down the hill, you will be rolling over and over...in the PITCH BLACK!!! More than Extreme!
Sphereing is available at most UK locations April-September annually. Some sites now offer winter SphereingŪ, using the opaque Sphere (Perth, ManchesterSouth and LondonNorth - these dates have limited availability.)
How long do I allow for my SphereMania experience?
Please allow a waiting time of up to 2 hours at peak sessions, though the site will aim to have given you your ride within the half hour time slot you have been allocated.
As SphereingŪ is an extreme adventure activity, one ride is included in the price, though if you're feeling really brave, further rides can usually be purchased on the day (subject to availability.)
The ride itself lasts for approx. 30 seconds - 1 minute, depending on which location you visit. The run is 150m to 250m long (site dependent) and all sites vary in gradient, some being more gentle than others.
What do I need to bring with me?
- proof of posting your voucher to one of our SphereMania venues and your confirmation email showing the date/time you have booked
- suitable clothes for the type of Sphereing you want to experience!
- towel if you are Aqua Sphereing
- cash or card... in case you'd like another go!!!
What do I wear?
Harness/Eclipse SphereingŪ - comfortable trousers, crew/polo neck t-shirt or jumper (we recommend you wear clothes that protect and cover your shoulders/neck, as you will be wearing a full climbing harness)
Aqua SphereingŪ - Long sleeved t-shirt and comfortable trousers. Please remember your towel, as well as change of clothes!
All SphereManiacs ...You will need to remove all jewellery - watch, rings, necklace, piercings etc. You will be barefoot in the Sphere.
